Gujarat announces additional subsidy for Solar Rooftop Power Plants

Gujarat to boost the solar rooftop market, has announced attractive subsidies for homeowners who are looking to set up solar PV rooftop systems.

The Gujarat Energy Developer Authority (GEDA) has announced subsidy from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 per kW to install rooftop solar PV plant for homeowners. This is in addition to the 30% subsidy offered by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

The Gujarat government plans to target 100,000 consumers under this program. Once this target is achieved, the government will review the program and decide its future.

Gujarat already has net metering regulations that allow consumers to install rooftop solar PV systems and credits for the unused electricity they add to the grid.
