New decision of Haryana seems a major setback for solar water heater manufacturers

State government of Haryana has withdrawn its policy that mandates buildings having area over 500 sqyd to install thermal solar water heaters.

Policy made Haryana a lucrative market for solar water heater manufacturers but the new decision of renewable energy department has come as a major setback for manufacturers, who are now counting their losses.

After this decision, many developers have asked manufacturers and installation parties to take back their equipment.

When officials were questioned about the decision they said, “The government had to pull back the policy because it is planning to install photovoltaic solar panels on rooftops.”
