SBEnergy of SoftBank wins its first solar project bid. SB Energy, a joint venture by softbank, Bharti and Foxconn formerly known as SBG Cleantech won a Ministry of Energy NTPC bid to develop a 350-megawatt solar power plant in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh at a tariff of 4.63 rupees per kilowatt-hour over 25 years.

SoftBank has a plan to invest $20 billion over 10 years into green energy projects in India.

“Our goal is to create a market-leading renewable energy company to fuel India’s growth with clean, reliable and affordable sources of energy,” said Nikesh Arora, President and Chief operating officer of SoftBank.
